If you’re a fan of nothing, nowhere., and/or Yungblud, here’s a new band for you! Tempoh Slow is an LA-based duo who is getting ready to release their new EP, Punxx Noir, out March 25th! In this Q&A, they reveal details about the EP, their earliest musical memory, and more!
Later this year, you will be releasing your EP, Punxx Noir. Congratulations! What does this release mean to you?
thanks -- it means so much. i think it represents the end of an era. shedding a part of myself that was no longer serving me. also, these songs just rip. it means a lot to me, bc its good. you can love it or hate it, but we are definitely gonna make you feel something. promise.
What is your favorite song off Punxx Noir?
i love them all. for real. i genuinely love them for different moments. we never want to write the same things over and over, so i feel like each song has a life of its own. its heat.
How do you feel the pandemic affected the making of the EP, if it did at all?
i don't think the pandemic really has much to do with the actual subject matter of the ep, but it's definitely how we had time to link up.
How is this EP different from your previous releases? Any similarities?
i think its just more focused. before we just wrote songs and put them out. we didnt really know what it was just yet. i think we know where we want to be musically and as a live band and it's just a bit more focused. this is a band.
What is your earliest musical memory?
spice girls, baby.
What instrument do you not play that you hope to learn someday?
i would love to play piano. i just got my niece a piano for xmas and i hope she becomes a prodigy. she rules.
We all have our days where it may not be going as well as we’d like. People deal with their worst days in different ways. What helps you get through the bad days? How do you stay positive?
hmmmm...its harder lately for me with everything going on, but i just try and think of it all...the whole 100% of the day and what is going on around me, and honestly there is so much good. super blessed. i am always in my head but usually that always shifts my thoughts. at least for a bit, but i am just sensitive. lol. i feel a lot. but i love a lot too!
