Music Q&A with Telltale
Yesterday, rock band, Telltale, released their new EP, Lie Your Way Out via Rude Records! Ahead of the release, the band took some time to answer questions about the EP, their favorite band to see live, and more! You can purchase Lie Your Way Out HERE.
Congratulations on the release of your EP, Lie Your Way Out! What do you hope fans get out of this release?
Honestly, we just want people to enjoy the music and take their own meaning from it. Each song has a meaning for us, but it's honestly better if fans draw their own conclusions. That's what makes music special.
What’s your favorite song off Lie Your Way Out?
This is always such a hard question. These songs are like our children. I guess "Lie Your Way Out" is the title track for a reason. It's sort of like the "So-and-So Jr." in a big family.
How did Covid affect the making and creative process of the EP, if it did at all?
Covid changed a lot of things with this release. We did a lot of demoing over zoom right in the beginning. Most of us weren't very well-versed in recording, so there was a big learning curve while everyone got up to speed. We were also hesitant to start releasing new music with so much uncertainty around live performances. It's great to be back on track.
Who has been your favorite artist or band to see live?
Slipknot never misses. The four of us went and saw them during the last album tour and had the best time. Their music is just super consistent and the stage show is mental.
What's the best piece of advice another musician ever gave you?
Kellin from Sirens once told us "never stop being a fan." That still hits home. No matter how many faces you meet, "famous" or not, let your idols stay idols. It's not worth trying to be all cool-guy.
We all have our days where it may not be going as well as we’d like. People deal with their worst days in different ways. What helps you get through the bad days? How do you stay positive?
Mindfulness has really changed my life personally. Meditation and taking time to consider your feelings gives a lot of clarity to bad situations. I know that's easier said than done but it takes practice. And breathing.
Thank you for taking the time for this Q&A. Any last words or final message for the readers?
Thanks for having us. Lie Your Way Out drops March 25. Share it with some friends, word of mouth is everything.
