Saturday, May 21st, was a beautiful day in Pasadena, California. Perfect weather. Not too hot and not too cold for the outdoor festival that would take place at Brookside at the Rose Bowl. For fans of indie rock, the lineup for Just Like Heaven Fest was STACKED. Thinking about what the last two years (and counting) have been like and considering how some of the bands on the lineup had not played out here for a long time prior to COVID, it was a MUST to attend this festival. Performances at the festival included sets from veteran bands such as Interpol ("Slow Hands”, “Evil”), Modest Mouse (“Float On”, “Ocean Breathes Salty”), The Shins (“New Slang”, “Phantom Limb”), and Bloc Party (“Banquet”, “Helicopter”)! Some other bands that played early in the day were Geographer, who released an album last fall titled Down and Out In The Garden Of Earthly Delights and The Cribs, who are currently on tour with Modest Mouse (tour dates HERE)!

Whether fans were at a stage rocking out to the bands or they were waiting in line to get some good food, it was a party all around with good vibes, dancing, selfies, and drinking from beginning to end. Is it 2023 and can we get next year’s lineup already?!
