Episode 50 - Raphael Rodriguez (High School Teacher)

POSI EARLY 1ST BIRTHDAY TO THE KEEP IT POSI PODCAST! To help celebrate, the guest for episode 50 is my 10th grade English teacher, Mr. Raphael Rodriguez. The reason I asked him if he would hop on for episode 50 is because he was my mentor in high school and if you listened to episode one, that’s when I had my mentor in the music industry, on the podcast. I felt it made sense to have another mentor as a guest on the eve of the podcast turning one year old! To make a long story short, there was a club at school that Mr. Rodriguez sponsored when I was in high school. The Beatles and Music Club. I think that club was the beginning of what officially led me to pursue a career in the music/radio industry. In this conversation, Mr. Rodriguez and I talked about the club that started everything, teaching during the Covid era, the reason why there was a specific album that ended up being the first CD he ever bought even though tapes cost less, buying concert tickets at The Wherehouse, how and why he became a teacher, and so much more. Thank you to all that have been part of the podcast journey during the last year! The support means a lot!!

This week, The Posi Spotlight is focused on DonorsChoose, a nonprofit organization that has been supporting teachers and students since 2000. DonorsChoose makes it easy for anyone to help a teacher in need, moving us closer to a nation where students in every community have the tools and experiences they need for a great education by funding books, art supplies, and class trips. If you would like to learn more or make a donation to DonorsChoose, you can visit donorschoose.org.

The podcast is available on Apple Podcast, Spotify, Breaker, Google Podcasts, Overcast, RadioPublic, and Anchor FM! Please rate and subscribe? Thank you to everyone who has listened. It really means a lot!
