Episode 59 - Blue Jenkins (Lakes)

The guest for episode 59 of The Keep It Posi Podcast is Blue Jenkins who sings and plays glockenspiel, keys, and percussion in Lakes, an indie rock band out of the U.K. Lakes recently released their album, Start Again, via Know Hope Records in the U.S., Big Scary Monsters in the U.K., and Friend Of Mine Records in Japan. In this conversation, Blue and I talked about the new album, how she joined Lakes after their formation, Radiohead, La Dispute, and more. This week, The Posi Spotlight is focused on The Listening Place, a nonprofit with an award winning team of volunteers who offer free, confidential, and ongoing face-to-face listening, by appointment, to people who feel that life is no longer worth living. The Listening Place was conceived in 2015 and set up in 2016 in London, by a group of volunteers with a great deal of experience in supporting the suicidal. They had recognized that there is little ongoing face-to-face support available for many people with chronic suicidal feelings, and that some of this support can be given by well trained and professionally supervised volunteers.
