Music Q&A with Mark Seifeddine of Wolfrik
Edmonton, AB's hard rock/metal band, Wolfrik, is releasing their debut album, Clones, this Friday via Thousand Islands Records! In this Q&A, Wolfrik’s very own Mark Seifeddine, took time to talk about the album, who he would collaborate with if he could, and more! Clones is available for pre-orders HERE.
Congratulations on the release of Clone! What does the album mean to you?
Thank you! Like most art, this album holds significance with us in ways that are subjective, and in this case experiences that connect us to it on a deep personal level. We are so happy to be releasing our first full length record. Life has been difficult for many people through this pandemic, we look forward to sharing Clones with the world and getting back to meeting great people along the way.
What’s your favorite song off Clone?
“Forty Fives”. The heavy haunting nature of this song reminds us it is okay to step out of our element and try things that maybe wouldn’t normally be expected.
How did Covid affect the making and creative process of the album?
We had plans with Pre Covid to start recording this album, but as the pandemic continued we realized not everything had to be don’t at once or in a traditional order. We broke the recording of this album up into 3 sessions, which gave us time to work on our craft without rushing the songs along. We feel that in the end this gave us a much more polished and refined product.
What instrument do you not play that you hope to learn someday?
Piano, most of us can fake our way through a few chords but that's as much as we know.
If you had a chance to collaborate with a musician, dead or alive, who would it be?
Tough question, I think a singer-songwriter like Townes Van Zandt or Doc Watson would be pretty cool. Amazing talents and the backbone to multiple genres of music.
We all have our days where it may not be going as well as we’d like. People deal with their worst days in different ways. What helps you get through the bad days? How do you stay positive?
Try to surround yourself with people who care about you and have your best intentions in mind. It doesn't always help because at the end of the day it's on you to turn that bad day around, but it makes things easier and can help get you back into a good mind set. Positive vibes, man.
Thank you for taking the time for this Q&A. Any last words or final message for the readers?
Thank you for taking the time to read this, we hope you enjoy Clones, Much Love .
