Episode 8 - Tom Mullen (Washed Up Emo)

The guest for episode 8 of The Keep It Posi Podcast is Tom Mullen. Tom runs washedupemo.com, a site that's been around since 2007 that's dedicated to the history of Emo. In 2011, he started The Washed Up Emo Podcast and the DJ nights in New York City. In 2017, he released Anthology of Emo: Volume 1 and recently announced the release of Volume 2. Anthology of Emo is a compilation of stories that have been told on The Washed Up Emo Podcast by bands in the scene over the years. Volume one is getting reprinted and is now available for pre-order along with volume two at anthologyofemo.com. In this conversation, Tom and I talked about the books, his career in the music industry, how he ended up working at his dream label (Equal Vision Records!), the importance of doing what you love, and so much more. Tom’s podcast was one of my influences to start this podcast so having him on was super cool!
