Episode 39 - Mike Cubillos (Earshot Media)

The guest for episode 39 of The Keep It Posi Podcast is Mike Cubillos, who is the owner of Earshot Media, a music publicity company he started in 1997. He has worked in music for even longer than that. Over the years, Mike has worked with bands such as All Time Low, Avenged Sevenfold, The All-American Rejects and has also worked campaigns for festivals such as the Vans Warped Tour, Taste of Chaos, and It’s Not Dead Fest. Earshot is still going strong and the current client roster includes Reel Big Fish, Spartan Records, Wiretap Records, Check Your Head Podcast, Half Past Two, and Demons, just to name a few. In this conversation, Mike tells the story of how he started his own company, how he knew he wanted to work in music, the importance of building relationships, his long working relationship with ska punk legends, Reel Big Fish, and a whole lot more.

The Posi Spotlight is a new thing kicking off on the podcast this week in which every week, a nonprofit organization doing something positive to contribute to our society will be talked about. Stand Up For Pits is a nonprofit organization dedicated to saving the lives of pitbull “type” dogs through live events, funds, education, and advocacy. Stand Up For Pits was founded by actress and comedian, Rebecca Corry, in September 2013. She continues to use her platform to fight for pups and continue to raise awareness. If you would like to learn more or make a donation to Stand Up For Pits, you can visit standupforpits.us.
