Yup. Seems like The Interrupters did it once again and delivered a posi performance. Actually, one of the best shows I’ve ever attended. No lie. I’d like to think that I’m not exaggerating, but just stating facts. All this took place on Sunday, April 14th at The Observatory in Orange County.

RAT BOY kicked things off and performed songs from his latest album, Internationally Unknown, which was produced by Tim Armstrong. Even though there were a handful of fans not familiar with the music, that didn't seem to stop them from enjoying the tunes.

Up next was Masked Intruder! Seeing the pop-punk quartet the night before at The Hi-Hat in Los Angeles was quite a warm-up. There were still fans in the crowd this time around that were not strangers to the band. Of course, the band sang tracks from their latest album, III, but also fan favorites such as “Stick ‘Em Up” and “Unrequited Love”. Fans knew to expect the band’s antics as well as an appearance by MI’s sidekick, Officer Bradford. There was so much crowd interaction during their set as Officer Bradford did some crowd surfing, Intruder Green did some dancing with a fan, and Intruder Blue sang “Heart Shaped Guitar” with another fan! Honestly, Masked Intruder is one of the funnest pop-punk bands to see live. Cannot wait for their next run of shows in California. Their set was a great way to prepare for what was to come from The Interrupters.

It’s been truly amazing seeing all the success the ska punk group has acquired over the past year since the release of Fight The Good Fight. Can’t count the amount of posi moments I’ve had at their shows or in general because of their music.

As expected, The Interrupters kicked things off with “A Friend Like Me” and did not hesitate to engage with the crowd from the get go as Aimee Interrupter made her way to high-fiving and fist bumping with fans that have been waiting along the barricade all night. Things did not slow down as the band played fan favorites such as “By My Side”, “Take Back The Power”, and “She Got Arrested”. As the night progressed, the band also played new jams off their latest record such as “Title Holder”, “Broken World”, “Got Each Other”, and “Room With A View”, which was really awesome to hear live. Of course, you can’t leave out their radio hits, “She’s Kerosene” and “Gave You Everything”. Some songs that seem to be turning into deep cuts that I was really stoked to hear were “The Valley” and “On A Turntable”. Of course, an Interrupters set wouldn’t be the same without their cover of Operation Ivy’s “Sound System.” To keep the tradition going, The Interrupters finished off the night with fan favorite, “Family”.

I’ve lost track of how many times I’ve seen The Interrupters and I’m lucky to have experienced all those shows, but as stated earlier, I definitely do think this is the best show of theirs that I’ve seen. They’ve come into their own and you can tell they have worked on their craft. The lineup was also very stacked and definitely one to not miss. Happy faces all around throughout the night. Fans of all ages in the house. The momentum never seemed lost. All in all, it was a VERY POSI show. The plan will always be to take back the power.
